Welcome to our review of the Ledsniper Sniper Compact 4×32 Scope with Rangefinder Reticle. This scope is designed for the budget-conscious rifle or crossbow hunter, but how much value can you really eke out of such an inexpensive alternative? Let’s take a look and find out.

What Are the Scope’s Dimensions?

This particular model is 9.1 inches long and approximately 3 inches in diameter at its widest point. It’s a compact and lightweight piece of glass, coming in at just 10.8 ounces. Eye relief on this scope should be quite comfortable for most crossbow users at three inches.

How Much Magnification Does It Provide?

The 32mm objective lens will give you 4X magnification, and the clarity and resolution of the image is quite good. Parallax is set at 100 yards, and cannot be adjusted. The reticle on this model is a rangefinding option, meaning you can get a rough estimate of the distance to your target, once you learn how to use the feature.

How Good Are the Optics?

Ledsniper says they use a sapphire lens coating on this scope, but there’s no word on whether it’s fully coated, multicoated, or fully multicoated. Judging by the poor light transmission of the scope, I would guess the optics are just coated, or possibly multicoated. The objective lens has an exit pupil diameter of 8mm.

What’s the Light Gathering Capability Like on the Scope?

This scope was clearly not intended for low-light hunting, a fact that became painfully obvious the first early morning I tried using the scope to take down a buck. It was overcast, and in the early morning hours, and I had to pass on the shot simply because I couldn’t make out the animal well enough to be certain I was going to hit a vital organ rather than just wounding the deer. Not only is the scope’s reticle not illuminated, but the glass suffers from extremely poor light transmission to boot.

How Much Terrain Can I See Through the Scope?

The field of view offered by this scope is just mediocre, a mere 28 feet from 100 yards. That’s enough room to acquire your target before taking a shot, but sometimes just barely if the prey is on the move.

How Easy is the Ledsniper Sniper Scope to Mount?

One nice inclusion with this scope are the rings. They’re high quality and work well with crossbows, but they might be a bit low for some rifle applications. Once you know what you’re doing, it’s quite easy to mount the scope. If you aren’t sure, check out our guide on getting that scope mounted and ready to sight in.

How Easy is It to Sight In?

I always recommend using a laser bore sighting tool to start off this process, but what if you just don’t know at all where to begin? That’s where our guide to sighting in a crossbow scope will come in handy.

Once you know how to go about sighting in your scope, it’s easy as pie. The glass features standard 1/4" click values at 100 yards, making the job simple and painless.

Once sighted in, you shouldn’t have to repeat the process for quite some time. I’ve dropped my crossbow (with this scope attached) from my tree stand several times, and the scope has remained completely zeroed in.

How Durable is the Scope?

You’ll find this scope to be exceptionally durable, and it’s backed by a limited lifetime warranty. While Ledsniper doesn’t explicitly state this, the glass appears to be fully waterproof and fogproof, so I’m assuming the lenses are O-ring sealed and the optical chamber is nitrogen purged. I’ve used the Ledsniper Sniper scope on several frigid mornings, and it remained fog-free throughout everything northeast Ohio could throw at it.

Ledsniper Sniper Compact 4×32 Crossbow Scope Summary

Thanks for reading my review of the Ledsniper Sniper Compact 4×32 Crossbow Scope. This is an okay scope if you do most of your hunting in fairly bright lighting conditions, but it fares poorly during early morning and late evening hours. With that said, it’s definitely built to last and offers a great value for the price.
